Hire cars
Norfolk Island has over 200 km of hilly roads to be explored.We can provide a rental car with your apartment to visit the vast and beautiful scenery at your own pace.There is no public transport on Norfolk Island so we highly recommend a car.

CARS AND COSTS: All our vehicles are 4 and 5 seaters. The cost is AUD 40.00 per day that includes Hire, Location, Administration and Registration Recovery fees, Roadside service, Government Fees and Taxes. Minimum hire period is 2 days. You can either pre-book a car or hire one upon arrival, however, in busy times like Christmas or Country Music Festival, there may be a shortage of hire cars so bookings in advance are highly recommended. We don’t want to sound tough but only pre-booked and paid in advance cars will be guaranteed.

If  travelling with children, we can provide car seats or booster seats free of charge.These are subject to availability and need to be ordered before your arrival .

An 8 seater van  is available for hire (subject to availability). Extra charges apply.

PICK UP: If you have a pre-booked car, it will be parked outside your apartment. However you will be required to complete registration along with guest check in at the ALOHA reception upon your arrival.

CAR RETURN: Guests at all properties need to return cars to our Aloha property where the vehicle is checked, and guests will be transferred to the airport on our complimentary transfer bus. You will be advised of time of departure a couple of days prior to departure.

EXTRA DRIVERS: We do not charge any fees for extra drivers but each driver must have a full valid driver’s licence (not be on learners permit) and licence must be produced when checking in.

INSURANCE: We offer Full Comprehensive Insurance to our guests. You don’t have to pay anything extra as the cost of the insurance is already included in the Rental Agreement. We strongly recommend to purchase a travel insurance cover as in case of an accident (and providing the Terms and Conditions haven’t been breached), we will pay all the expenses except for the ones related to the Driver’s injuries. EXCESS: An excess of $1000 will apply in the event of any damage. Upon signing the Rental Agreement, you will be required to leave Visa or MasterCard credit card details (we do not accept debit cards for deposits) to cover the excess, however, we will not reserve any funds on your card. In the case that you don’t have a credit card you will need to leave a cash bond of $1000 which (providing there is no damage and the car is returned with a reasonably clean interior and full tank of fuel) will be refunded upon return of the vehicle. Note – if you don’t have a travel insurance that covers the excess, you will have to pay up to $1000 for any damage caused while the car is in your care, regardless whose fault it was.

FUEL: Cars have a full fuel tank when hired out and must be returned with a full fuel tank.
